About Me
Namaste! My name is Mayra Jimenez. and I’m so happy to join Hindu Homeschool as the Lead Cooking Instructor. For many years, I have been deeply influenced by the famous book, The Art of Indian Vegetarian Cooking by Yamuna Devi, and especially the beautiful tradition of sattvic cuisine. I use this book as the foundation for my online cooking classes with children.

As a new mom myself, I truly understand the importance of teaching kids healthy eating habits early on. With my background in child development, I love engaging children through simple, fun, delicious, and safe cooking projects they can proudly create — and serve joyfully to their families!

I’m also the proud owner of two businesses: Sweet Coco Desserts and Agua Haus, where I offer a variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and halal treats. Through all my work, my heart’s mission remains the same: to nurture a love for good food, mindful preparation, and joyful sharing.

I can't wait to cook, learn, and grow together with you and your children!
My Classes
I offer once-a-week online cooking and baking classes designed especially for children who are excited to explore the kitchen! My focus is on making cooking simple, fun, and approachable, with an emphasis on baking and easy-to-follow recipes that children can enjoy creating.

To participate, students will need a laptop setup, a clean cooking space, and basic kitchen tools like mixing bowls, spatulas, and measuring cups. Some recipes will require the use of an oven, so occasional adult support is encouraged for safety.

Before each class, I send out a list of materials and ingredients several days in advance to help families prepare stress-free for our cooking adventures. My goal is to make every class a joyful experience where children learn new skills, build confidence, and have lots of fun serving their delicious creations at home!
